Melanie, a native of Williamsburg, Kentucky, is a Faculty Lecturer in Arts Administration at the University of Kentucky. She recently completed a 13-year role as Administrative Assistant in the Department of Theatre & Dance, where she also served as House Manager for the past six years. She holds an M.A. in Arts Administration and a B.A. in Theatre with a minor in History from the University of Kentucky.
From 2001 to 2011, Melanie lived in New York City, working as an Executive Assistant in the commercial real estate industry. This decade provided valuable administrative experience and rekindled her passion for the arts, motivating her to pursue arts administration upon her return to Lexington. Since then, she has expanded her expertise in the field, leading to adjunct faculty roles in both the Theatre & Dance and Arts Administration departments.
With a background in theatre performance, Melanie is an avid arts enthusiast who enjoys attending performances and events whenever possible.
