Dr. Elise Kieffer comes from a nonprofit arts and culture background, having worked in the
practice of arts administration and also as a researcher and educator within the field. Her
publications include research within the arts administration field of practice and pedagogy both.
Her arts administration specialization lies within the areas of rural arts management and
inter-sector collaboration. Pedagogically, she is a constructivist, actively promoting opportunities
for students to reflect and apply information toward their own unique understanding and
knowledge construction. She has successfully facilitated multiple education abroad opportunities
for students of arts and culture administration.


Melanie McCallon Seib developed an Education Abroad Office over a 22 year career in the field,
basing her work at a regional public university on standards developed by the Forum on
Education Abroad. Her publications center program development from idea and rigor to
financing and crisis management and beyond. Working collaboratively with faculty across
academic disciplines, Melanie’s work has sought to engage faculty and students in experiential
education through academically sound study abroad. Melanie has facilitated dozens of short and
long-term programs across the globe.
